Kristin works in the front office greeting guests of the University, students, and alumni of the department. She works with both the Director of Graduate Studies and the Field Camp Director corresponding with prospective students who want to do graduate work in the department, or attend our Summer Field Course. Kristin is responsible for the duplication of exams, inventory, and grade rolls. She also monitors the C-5 research grant accounts for the professors.

Marsha handles the fiscal part of the department. She also handles the Chairman's correspondence, works with the Geology Development Board members, and maintains an alumni file of approximately 1200 for correspondence of the annual departmental Newsletter.

Carol is responsible for a state-of-the-art Perkin Elmer Optima 3300 DV inductively coupled atomic emission spectrometer or ICP-AES that the department procured in 1998. This instrument has been the work horse for the last 6 years capably analyzing aqueous solutions of rocks, sediments, soils and waters. For most elements of the periodic table, it has a dynamic linear range of 10’s of parts-per-billion to about 100 parts-per-million, fulfilling the needs of most analytical interests. |
