The George P. Woollard Award is given annually by the Geophysics and Geodynamics Division to recognize individuals who have provided outstanding contributions to geology through the application of the principles and techniques of geophysics. The award is presented at the annual GSA meeting in conjunction with the Geophysics and Structural Geology and Tectonics Division business meetings. Dr. Liu will deliver the honorary George P. Woollard Technical Lecture, entitled "Fault evolution, interaction, and earthquakes", before the Geophysics and Geodynamics Division's award ceremony. The lecture will be held on Monday, October 16th from 12-1 p.m. in room 329 at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
