Research Focus

Research focus: Geobiology, Precambrian

My research interests span a wide range of geobiological problems, focusing mostly on the Precambrian history of the Earth (prior to ~540 Ma). Mainly, I am interested in organism-environment interactions, and how they shaped our planet through time. Such as the appearance of rich microfossil communities in the Meso- and Neoproterozoic (~1500–800 Ma), evolutionary stagnation during Cryogenian (~720–635 Ma), and the appearance of mysterious Ediacaran macrofossils and the emergence of animal life (~570–500 Ma).
