Minor in Geological Sciences

A minor in Geological Sciences consists of a minimum of 15 hours of course work with at least 9 credit hours at the GEOL2000-level or above. Nine of the required credits must be taken in residence. The Department of Geological Sciences will not accept credits in Independent Studies as part of the minor. All courses must be taken for a letter grade and a grade of C- or better must be earned in each course.

Students are advised to take either Introduction to the Earth (GEOL1100), Environmental Geology (GEOL1200), or Planet Earth (Geol 1050) as these courses serve as introductions to geological sciences and are required for most other courses offered by the Department of Geological Sciences.

Once a student has completed all coursework associated with a Minor in Geological Sciences, they should declare the minor (online) through the Office of the University Registrar by visiting declareaminor.missouri.edu.
